Example methods include NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) — the chronic circulation of a thin layer of nutrient solution over roots through a canal system, where the roots gain access to the nutrient solution and oxygen.
Others are DWC (Deep Water Culture) — the roots are submerged in a solution with aeration, Drip / drip systems, and Flood & Drain / EBB & FLOW methods, where the system is periodically flooded and emptied.
There are also simpler passive methods such as the Kratky method , which does not require pumps or circulation — you simply place a tank and the roots develop above the water level, with the nutrient solution gradually depleting.
