Sowing period: It requires a temperature of around 15oC to germinate and is therefore best sown in the spring or autumn months.


How to grow: Cochlearia is relatively easy to grow. In nature, it is found along the coasts and in the mountains, on rocks and stony beaches. Prefers a cooler climate. Tolerates saline and not particularly rich in nutrients soils. Grows along lye-salted intercity roads. In the garden it can be sown thickly, formed in flower beds.

  • Humidity - moderate
  • Soil - draining, acidic, sandy and slightly saline
