Seed Germination:

  • Soak the mushrooms in a solution of ROOT!T First Feed 125ml. in lukewarm water, making sure that the excess water has drained off. Place the seed in the sponge at a depth of 3-5 mm. Tear off a small piece of the mushroom and cover the seed with it (photo 3 on the back of the package). Place the tray with the mushrooms and seeds in a warm place - 25°C is ideal. ROOT!T heating pads are perfect for maintaining the ideal temperature. It takes between 24 hours and 10 days for the seeds to emerge. The mushrooms should be moist, but not wet! Allowing mushrooms to dry out or overwatering them can be fatal to the seeds. If, after squeezing the mushrooms, no liquid appears on their surface, add a little water. Root development can be monitored or measured by gently removing the mushrooms from the tray. When the roots are easily visible, the young plants can be transplanted into the container/substrate of your choice.

Rooting cuttings / clones:

  • Soak the mushrooms in a solution of   ROOT!T First Feed 125ml. in lukewarm water, making sure that the excess water has drained off. Take cuttings approximately 75mm high. The thickness of the stem of the clone (where the cut is) should be on average 3-4mm. Make a diagonal cut (45°) on the stem (from the mother plant) about 6mm. below the lowest branch and remove the lower leaves. When using ROOT!T Rooting Gel 150ml. just pre-fill the sponge hole to the top and gently place the clone into it. If the hole is too large, gently squeeze the sponge around the stem to seal it. Place in a propagator and in a warm place - 25°C is ideal. Lightly spray with lukewarm water or ROOT!T Cutting MIST 100ml. , to maintain a humid atmosphere.
